Communication Components Plant

The customer is a global leader in next generation telecommunications networks, serving 31 of the world's top 50 operators, along with over one billion users worldwide. The plant is in Shanghai, China. The climate in Shanghai is cold and dry during 4 month of the year, and moderate with high humidity during the remaining 8 months. The Plant requires high quality air in the Clean Room for optimal production and employee comfort, requiring a significant amount of fresh air into the facility.

Problem

While the dry cool winter months are fairly simple to manage, the rest of the year requires high energy consumption and a more customized solution.  With a corporate mandate of committing to a reduction in energy use and carbon emissions, the plant needed a solution that would be more energy efficient and cost-effective.

Solution

To maintain the required dry clean air in the plant, the company selected Advantix Systems' DuCool fresh air system, a liquid desiccant based technology.  Two DuCool DT Series units (3400 model) were installed in the brand new clean room facilities located in the Song Jiang industrial park in Shanghai.

After evaluation, the plant found that the actual energy savings achieved by installing the DuCool DT units resulted in over $33,000 per year.
