House Inspection: What to Expect From the Report?

  4. Heating, Ventilation, Cooling, and Chimneys (HVAC) systems are also usually part of the investigation.
  5. Interior plumbing for leaks, condition of the toilets, showers, and sinks. 
  6. The roof and the attic are sometimes checked as well as exterior surfaces to see if the insulation is sufficient and the ventilation proper and check for signs for leaking or other damage.

The things an inspector wouldn’t look at, in general – 

  1. Pests, termites, or mold checkup is not usually covered by house inspectors. However, there are specialists to look for these particular issues.
  2. The pool and septic system.
  3. Areas behind the wall, foundations, electrical wiring inside the walls.
  4. Nor would they be looking for hazards like radon or asbestos.

An inspector isn’t required to do anything dangerous or risky in any way, check for issues in places that aren’t accessible, and problems that may be hidden from plain sight during his/her walkthrough.
